Northern Territory: Register to vote
With speculation of a federal election coming soon, it is timely to remind all eligible Territorians to register to vote.

We currently have an estimated 35,000 Territorians missing from our electoral roll, 70% of them aged between 18 and 39.

Northern Territory : Boosting security and getting more Taxis on NT roads

The Territory Governmenthas announced measures to fund security cameras in taxis and put more cabs on the road during peak demand periods.

Minister for Transport, Gerry McCarthy, said the Territory Government will provide funding so security cameras can be installed in taxis to help boost safety.

Northern Territory : Twenty 20 Cricket for the Top End


Katherine : Katherine Gorge Re-Open for Swimming
Acting Minister for Sport and Recreation Gerry McCarthy has announced elite Twenty20 Cricket would be coming to the Top End this year.

“Territorians love their cricket, and today I am pleased to announce that this August, in a first for the NT, world class Twenty20 Cricket will be coming to Darwin,” said Mr McCarthy.

The Department of Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sport (NRETAS) has re-opened Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park for swimming and canoeing.

Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife chief district ranger Kristen Appel said Katherine Gorge usually re-opens for swimming near the start of the dry season however late wet season rains and high water levels delayed the opening.
